7 Days to Die V3.2.0 Experimental Update Overview
7 Days to Die V3.2.0 Experimental introduces horn-triggered trader gates, combine station adjustments, POI sync improvements, and numerous bug fixes.
On 19 August 2026, the developers of 7 Days to Die released the V3.2.0 experimental build, introducing gameplay adjustments, trader compound quality-of-life updates, crafting interface revisions, and networking fixes.
Players accessing the release can opt in through the Steam client by opening the properties panel for the title, navigating to the beta options, and picking the experimental branch to initiate the client download.
Trader Vehicle Horn Interactions
Survivors operating vehicles are now able to open trader perimeter doors by sounding their horn. Approaching the outer boundary triggers an on-screen prompt once the vehicle is within acceptable distance, alerting the driver that the entrance can be activated with the horn. While every exterior gate is configured to react to this audio signal, some entryways are not wide enough to accommodate larger transports.
To prevent vehicle horns from opening indoor access points by mistake, a dedicated interior wooden door variant that ignores horns has been placed inside trader compounds, replacing standard wood doors across the locations run by Rekt, Hugh, and Joel.
Combine Station Visual and Audio Overhaul
The combine station user interface has been revised to clarify the outcome of merging gear. The updated presentation highlights the expected resulting statistics prior to confirming the operation. Merged gear now features a plus symbol to mark that it went through the combination process, and the action requires an explicit button click to finalise. The audio cue that plays when an item finishes combining on the bench has also been swapped out.
Build b9 Modifications and Fixes
Build b9 focuses on progression blockers and interface overlap corrections.
- Fixed an issue where progression milestones tied to traders could stall entirely.
- Addressed a quest boundary problem within cave_05 that could cause missions to fail prematurely.
- Resolved an overlap defect affecting text strings within the combine station menu screen.
Build b6 Additions
Build b6 introduced several underlying systems alongside server data handling modifications.
- Dedicated servers can now distribute custom points of interest directly to connected clients by transmitting a lightweight metadata payload, removing the need for players to manually install custom POI map assets beforehand.
- Chicken distress states now have unique status effect icons to clarify when the animal is under stress.
- Introduced an AllowDecorations property, decoupling world decoration handling within points of interest from trader zone boundaries.
Build b6 Adjustments
A wide set of mechanical, balance, and environmental rules received adjustments in the b6 iteration.
- Cooking stations and workbenches no longer adjust total preparation times based on equipment held directly by the character; the presence of an anvil, cooking pot, or cooking grill in active player slots will not shorten or alter processing durations.
- Campfire blocks no longer register as terrain decorations, allowing them to adjust underlying terrain geometry similarly to other standard construction blocks.
- Automated defence turrets have lost their structural stability contribution, meaning other blocks cannot rely on them for weight distribution support.
- Wall placement for auto turrets is no longer permitted, restricting mounting to valid upright horizontal surfaces.
- Scavenging loot tables now generate cotton drops when the world crop yield parameter is set to none.
- Standard inventory offerings available from traders have been altered to occasionally include raw cotton.
- Skittish wildlife now features sharper threat detection routines, reacting to nearby hazards more reliably.
- Chinese language text entries received updates to clarify phrasing across menus and prompts.
- Sleeper volume spawn logic now measures line-of-sight checks more efficiently when players are located at a distance.
- Group definitions for screamer scout parties within entitygroups.xml have had secondary screamer spawns disabled, preventing a screamer from calling in additional screamers during encounters.
- Removed the legacy AllowTopSoilDecorations tag from prefab files.
Build b6 Bug Fixes
The b6 build resolved several gameplay bugs, combat calculations, and multiplatform network issues.
- Fixed a crafting lock that prevented players from building lower-tier variants of unlocked items.
- Demolition zombies now register remote player client damage correctly, ensuring remote hits trigger their detonation sequence as intended.
- Resolved an issue that caused rabbits to flee at speeds slower than intended.
- Fixed permadeath mechanics failing to assign base skill points upon character death.
- Corrected a bug where maximum loot tier caps inadvertently constrained custom modification values.
- Chunk regeneration steps no longer trigger structural collapse when entities inhabit the resetting sector.
- Fixed an interface popup error that interrupted searches for servers operating over Epic Online Services.
