What is a Minecraft skyblock server?

You spawn on a small island in an empty sky with a tree, a chest of essentials and nothing else. Everything after that has to be manufactured from what you can renew — cobblestone from a lava-and-water generator, dirt from composted saplings — and the void is one misstep away the whole time.

Heavily automated by the mid-game: farms, generators and a shop system to sell the output. Most servers give each player their own island and an invite system for friends, plus a level or points score that ranks islands publicly. It is the most progression-shaped mode in Minecraft, which is why it holds people for months.
