What is a Counter-Strike: Source gun game server?

Every kill promotes you to the next weapon in a fixed ladder, usually starting on rifles and ending on a knife or grenade. There are no teams to speak of and no buy menu — the weapon you hold is your score, visible to everyone.

Fast, chaotic and forgiving of a short session, because a round ends when someone finishes the ladder rather than on a timer. Maps are small and respawns are instant, so you are shooting within a second of joining. Good for warming up aim without committing to a full competitive match.
