What is a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive surf server?

A movement mode with no shooting at its core. Maps are built from angled ramps, and holding a strafe key against a ramp lets the game's air physics carry you along it. You are trying to keep speed across a whole course without touching the ground.

Servers are either skill-ranked timer maps, where each stage is recorded against a leaderboard, or relaxed combat surf where people shoot each other mid-ramp. Timer servers are where the community lives. The first hour is genuinely hard — the movement is nothing like normal play — and most servers run beginner maps in rotation for that reason.
